Summary
With the declining economy and current business climate, Robert Miller and his affiliated companies have reassessed their short term goals and, over the past two years, reworked their business plans. Miller has shifted his focus from real estate development to maximization of income from current real estate holdings. His development experience and more than forty years of operating companies has contributed to the new enterprises by giving him the management skills needed to run and continually improve the huge variety of successful businesses his companies now have.
Over the last couple of years, Miller has transformed Jupiter Pointe Club and Marina into an all things marine center. Not only does it have a Category 5 hurricane rated storage facility for vessels and motor coaches up to 46 feet, 550 spaces for dry storage of boats and motor coaches with an incredible occupancy rate of over 75% in this economy, the revamped marina offers everything possible to the boating community. Located overlooking Jupiter Island, there are paddleboards, kayaks, jet skis and boat rentals, a ship's store, a membership boat club and a restaurant and bar along the waterfront with a pool and a location that will accommodate special events such as waterfront weddings and private parties. This 13 acres site has 3 remaining undeveloped acres and the company is in the permitting process to develop an upscale waterfront motor coach park on site. Plans are underway at another marina owned by the Miller companies and located on the scenic St. John's River in central Florida to offer facilities for recreation vehicles to enable customers to live next to their boats. Long terms plans for this marina call for it to offer amenities similar to those in place at Jupiter Pointe.
The corporate offices were recently relocated to Jupiter Pointe Club and Marina to enable better daily contact with the businesses located there and the former corporate headquarters has been transformed into Leapin Lizards an indoor playground for children, including several rooms for birthday and theme parties, with a strong education component that involves the parents with their children's activities. Plans are being finalized at Farnsworth Farms in the beautiful Ocala area, which is the center of equine activity in Florida, to open a Dude Ranch at that location which will also offer individuals equine assisted psychotherapy, an innovative form of therapy that has proven successful in treating a variety of issues.
Because of his strong business skills, Miller has recently been selected by one of his lending institutions to serve as the receiver for a marina it foreclosed upon in the Fort Lauderdale area.
