Resorts
In August of 1997, Robert Miller acquired the land he would use to build Legacy Resort. This unique parcel represented 1,000 acres of undeveloped land 3 miles from Walt Disney World in Osceola County Florida. The parcel is extremely accessible and is bordered by Highway's 535, 192, and the Osceola Parkway.. With the millions of tourists who visit the area each year, Osceola Trace is ideally suited to access the numerous hotels, restaurants, and activity centers of the greater Orlando metropolitan market. As a result, the area is perfect for second or vacation home ownership. Non-permanent residences close to the popular Orlando Parks and shopping corridor are anticipated to be of very high quality. Mr. Miller has transformed the land to 680 acres of multi-zoned property available for sale or joint venture. The remaining 320 acres is wetland area set to become part of a public-private ecological program.
In 2004-2005, Mr. Miller formed partnerships with U.S. Homes and ICI Homes to develop a portion (approximately 200 acres) of Legacy Resort into a world class resort community offering an array of uniquely designed residential and/or resort homes as well as extensive amenities similar to fine resort hotels found throughout the world. Legacy Resort will also offer individual town homes and condominiums to those who seek to enjoy vacation home ownership in the world's most popular vacation destination. Several parcels, south of the Osceola Parkway, owned and or controlled by Mr. Miller, directly or by a joint venture, will be assembled to accommodate a 700 key Renaissance hotel and meeting place with future expansion to 1,500 keys. In addition to this amenities Legacy Resort will feature a upscale environment that will cater to the region. Legacy Retail
Because Legacy Resort encompasses part of the Shingle Creek Wetlands, eco-tourism will be a point of emphasis for this project. A public-private ecological package is set to include hiking trails and many other activities that will allow visitors into what would be an otherwise protected area. Robert Miller is involved in discussions with the Trust for Public Land to develop a walking/hiking trail along the entire length of Shingle Creek from Orange County to Lake Okeechobee which would include the Legacy Resort and Legacy Reserve properties.
